Somewhere To Somewhere: A Tribute To Jake Allan Tousignant
I didn’t know Jake, but I heard some wonderful things about him from his friends and family at his tribute concert at 7th Street Entry in Minnesota. Jake was the drummer of Buffalo Fuzz, a local Minnesota heavy blue band. He passed away on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at the age of 24. Jake’s family and friends held a charity event to commemorate his life and love of music. They collected proceeds and hosted a silent auction to benefit the Tousignant family, The Kingsford High School Music Department and the Ronald McDonald House.
Overall, I thought that the silent auction went awesome, with us raising over $2500 for our causes – just from that event. It’s really exciting to see how kind and generous people are. I think this really shows what a great community we have and especially how big of an impact Jake had on everyone, probably without his knowledge. It was a great tribute to an absolutely amazing human being. – Jane Halldorson, First Ave Intern and Drummer of Last Import
Despite the fact that I never new Jake, it’s always heartbreaking to hear about the loss of such a talented musician in the local Minneapolis community. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Tousignant family and all of Jake’s friends as they gather every bit of strength to make it though their heart breaking loss.
Rest in Peace, Jake.
