Telamones Album Release | 7th Street Entry – 8.30.2018
My history with the Telamones began many years ago before they were even known by that name. I’ve known Zach Gonet, former drummer and current bassist and vocalist, and Chris Wald, guitarist and vocalist, since I was their drummer in a crappy basement punk band, The Let Down; my history as a drummer is a story for another day though.
It was 2 1/2 years ago that I first shot Telamones, known as Homebrew at the time, at the same venue that this blog talks about. After watching the duo preform, I knew I wanted to keep working with this local Minnesota band as long as I could. Over the years I’ve shot around 8-11 shows for Telamones, each show getting increasingly more refined.
On August 30th, 2018 Telamones released their first record “Uff Da”, and I was pleased that they wanted me to take photos for this major moment in their bands career. This show was one of the best I’ve seen Telamones play. Maybe it was due to the recent addition of Chris McGlauchlen on drums. Maybe it was the fact that Annex Panda and Last Import both opened for Telamones.
There’s a lot of factors that could have contributed to the highly successful album release, but the one thing that definitely made this show incredible was the chemistry between all the artist who preformed that night. I’ve worked with each of these bands on numerous occasions, and the one thing I can be sure of when I attend their shows is that I’m going to get to watch some of the most talented and driven individuals, I personally know, do what they love most in the world – make incredible music.
